When it comes to recent fighting games, Street Fighter 6 set the bar pretty high with its Classic, Modern, and Dynamic controls. Tekken 8, however, didn’t want to be left behind by adding the Special Style controls for its entry-level audience. However, unlike SF6, you select your control scheme before you start a match. The Special Style can be a double-edged sword, as it allows you to switch between normal controls and this one while you’re in the middle of a match. This is something that not every player of the game enjoys. So here’s how you can remove it.

The above method works if you are using a controller, similarly you can also detach it from your keyboard keybinds if you are using those. Other than detaching there is currently no other known way to turn it off while in the middle of a match.

If you assign a button to it, you can turn it on or off by pressing the same button. By default, this should be the LB or L1 button for most users. If you have another key assigned to it, you can check your controls and press the same key to turn it off if you don't want to disconnect it.

Special Style controls can be considered useful for absolute beginners to the game. While they are not as versatile as the Modern controls option that Street Fighter 6 offers, they can help new players get the hang of the game. For example, when using the special style, it is easy to juggle your opponent, especially if you are trying out a new character. No matter who you play as with the special style, the triple Triangle or Y combo will always do the launch and air combo portion.
