If you’re looking for an all-in-one iPad word processor, Writer, part of WPS Office, is the way to go, and it also includes a presentation maker, spreadsheet editor, and PDF creator. Writer’s features include creating tables, sharing documents, and encrypting documents. You can open, edit, and save a Microsoft Word document from within the Writer app.

WPS Office is free to download and use, but the VIP premium version ($3.99 per month, $9.99 per quarter, or $29.99 per year) offers additional security features and functionality.

Google Docs is the iOS-native word processing app for Google's suite of web-based office productivity apps. With Docs, you can create, edit, share, and collaborate on documents stored in Google Drive, Google's cloud storage service. However, an internet connection is not required to use the Google Docs app on your iPad or iPhone. Docs offers the basic word processing features you'd expect from a document editor.
