In the opening moments of The Boys season 4 finale, The Boys cleverly satirizes the cancellation of DC's Batgirl movie. Episode 4 includes a segment on VNN Today reporting that Vought Studios has canceled the "long-awaited film" Training A-Train , even though it's "completely finished."

Made in the same vein as The Blind Side, the fictional biopic featured the eponymous Supe and Will Ferrell. Ashley Barrett appears on screen, explaining that they realized they would make more money from the write-off.

This is similar to what happened with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah’s Batgirl. In August 2022, Warner Bros. Pictures announced that they would not be releasing the film, even though it was already in post-production. According to The Wrap, initial reports claimed that the film simply wasn’t working. There were also reports that the test audience reaction was significantly negative, as reported by Collider.
