The new OLED Nintendo Switch is, without a doubt, the definitive version of Nintendo’s hybrid gaming console. It’s the Switch as it should have been four years ago, with a better kickstand, a great screen, more internal storage, and a LAN port on the dock so you can connect it to your network with a wired connection for faster connectivity.

That being said, is it a must-buy? It really depends.
The new Switch’s OLED screen looks great. OLED technology allows for darker darks and more vibrant colors compared to a traditional LED screen. The bezels (the borders surrounding the functional part of the screen) are smaller, giving you a larger functional screen (7 inches diagonally, compared to 6.2 on the older Switch model). The result is immediately apparent when compared to the original Switch: the new OLED version simply looks better.
Put the new Switch in the dock meant to get its games on the big screen, and the advantage disappears. Nintendo consoles both old and new output 1080p to your TV, ensuring easy compatibility with all current Switch game titles. The resolution is also much lower than on consoles like the Sony PS5 or Xbox Series X, which bring 4K to gaming.
