What happened yesterday was a real attempted assassination of a presidential candidate. Those who deny the attempted assassination was real are in a truly deranged mindset. Yesterday, a human being was shot. Another was killed. They may not be people you agree with politically, but shame on you, folks. Get over your blind hatred for these people. They are fellow Americans. This collective hatred is killing our souls and consuming what is left of our humanity."

The film stars Bob Roberts as a right-wing candidate for Senate who undergoes a staged assassination attempt in an attempt to influence the election. Robbins plays the lead role and writes and directs the film.
