Senator Robin Padilla is not losing hope that the Philippines will soon be able to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

Padilla welcomed the House's passage of the medical cannabis bill and expressed optimism that the Senate will do the same.
At least 177 lawmakers voted in favor of Bill No. 10439 or the proposed Access to Medical Cannabis Act, while nine members opposed the measure and nine abstained.
“Napakagandang balita po ang pag-apruba ng Kapulungan ng Kongreso sa medical marijuana law,” Padilla said in a Facebook post on August 1.
