The jury found him guilty of the murders and voted to sentence him to death. Wilson's sentencing is set for July 23, 2024.
According to the News-Press, Wade Wilson, who took his name from the Marvel character Deadpool, met one of his victims at a bar on October 6, 2019. The outlet reported that they arrived at the victim’s home the next morning. Wilson later strangled her in her bed and took her car. A few hours later, Wilson met another woman and asked her for directions. According to the News-Press, the accused lured her into the car and strangled her when she tried to escape. He then pushed her out of the car and ran her over 10 to 20 times.
Wilson's father also testified at the trial, speaking candidly about the phone call he had with his son after the murders.
