While Walmart's device looks generic and extremely cheap, the $30 streaming device offers a decent 4K streaming experience for those who want discounted entertainment.

Walmart's new Onn Android TV box for $30 is actually pretty good!

I didn't expect much from Walmart's off-brand streaming device. Sure, other companies have managed to deliver decent streaming systems for slightly more than the $30 price point, but Walmart's past attempts at breaking into the technology haven't always worked out so well. Still, I was intrigued. The Roku has long been my favorite streaming device, simply because I like the layout and it gives me everything I need in one place. Could Walmart deliver something equally good for less?

Well, not quite. But the Walmart streaming device isn’t bad, especially if you’re just looking for something that can deliver 4K without costing you a fortune.

The first thing I noticed about Walmart’s streamer is the overall simplicity of the box and its controls. It uses Google’s generic Android TV remote, which fits in well with the overall setup of the simple black box.
