WhatsApp has been working on its Group Events feature for a while now. It would allow group members to create events, schedule group video and audio calls, comment on events, and receive reminders for them. This is a major update that will make it easy for groups and communities to organize meetups and events and stay in the loop.

WABetaInfo first spotted the feature a few months ago. Thanks to TheSpAndroid, we now have additional updates on what the Group Events feature will look like.

First, Group Events will be available to all groups, even if they aren’t part of a larger community. It seems that the ability to create an event will be the prerogative of each group member, allowing multiple events to coexist in a group.
