XDefiant players looking to try out the new Ranked mode and level up will have to wait a little longer, but less than originally planned.

Live Xdefiant Season 1

Yesterday, Ubisoft revealed that each season of Ranked Play would begin with a week-long “warm-up” period for players to get used to the game’s new factions, weapons, and maps. But this season will be without that altogether. Future seasons will have a week-long “warm-up,” but Season One’s will be much shorter.

So while Ranked mode won't be available on day one of season one, which kicked off this morning, it will be live tomorrow. Ranked mode in XDefiant will likely launch tomorrow, July 3, around 8am CT, if previous XDefiant updates are anything to go by.

Players can still try out the Ranked experience that was available in Season Zero, which includes four-versus-four gameplay across a number of maps and four different modes (Occupy, Domination, Zone Control, and Escort).
