VALORANT star Yay is taking a temporary leave of absence from professional play following several controversies and an unsatisfactory run in the first split of the VCT 2024 Pacific League. His organization, BLEED Esports, cited “health reasons” as the main factor behind Yay’s decision and pledged its support for the 25-year-old star.

How good was PRIME Yay (actually)?

This marks the second time Yay has taken a break from VALORANT while with BLEED; after joining the team in September 2023, he stepped down just before the VALORANT ONE Pro Invitational, also due to "unforeseen health issues."

“Health and well-being are paramount at BLEED,” the organization’s chief operating officer Ian Huston said earlier today on X (formerly Twitter). “Yay, we’ll miss him when he’s back at 100 percent, but he has our full support during this return.”

After completing the first split, yay has decided to take a temporary break for health reasons before competing again. We fully support his decision to put his well-being first and we all look forward to more yay once he gets back in the zone. Until then, rest easy, @yay!… pic.twitter.com/GbR9sJtKaT
