House of Representatives Budget Committee chairman and Rep. Elizaldy Co of the Ako Bicol Party debunked Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa's claim that he was part of a group that convinced former police officers to give statements for use in the International Criminal Court case against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Co said in a statement that he met Police General Romeo Caramat Jr. twice.
“I have met Gen. Caramat twice. First in 2023, when he was introduced to me by Congressman Erwin Tulfo. At that time, he (Gen. Caramat) asked for my approval to become PNP Chief,” Co said.
“The second time I met him was at the mansion of Speaker Martin Romualdez a few months ago. When I arrived, Gen. Caramat was already there. From the conversation, I learned that he (Gen. Caramat) was willing to tell everything he knew about EJKs in exchange for his appointment as PNP (Philippine National Police) Chief,” he added.
